Dhela Tourism Zone

The Dhela Tourism Zone, which was added to Jim Corbett National Park in 2014, has quickly gained popularity as one of the most sought-after wildlife destinations. Its status as the newest entry into Corbett's tourism zones offers a perfect blend of nature and adventure. As an all-season zone, it is open throughout the year, which is a major draw for tourists who wish to visit Corbett at any time.

Safari Experience
Safari timings in Dhela are controlled to ensure a quality wildlife experience. There are only 15 jeeps available for each shift (morning and evening), which ensures that the wildlife isn't disturbed by overcrowding. Depending on the time of year, the timings for these safaris can vary. The main attraction in this zone is the chance to observe diverse wildlife in their natural habitat.

Location
The Dhela Tourism Zone is accessed via the "Dhela Gate," located 15 kilometers from the town of Ramnagar, which is the main gateway to the Jim Corbett National Park. The Dhela Gate is the entrance to both the Dhela Zone and the Jhirna Zone, offering visitors a wide variety of landscapes and wildlife.

Attractions
One of the most remarkable features of the Dhela Tourism Zone is that it remains open throughout the year, unlike many other zones in Corbett that close during the monsoon. This gives visitors a chance to experience the park's wildlife year-round.

Flora & Fauna
The forest composition of Dhela Zone is very similar to the other zones of Corbett. The primary type of forest is sal, interspersed with wide grasslands, locally known as 'chaur,' which further enhance the safari experience.

Night Stay in the Dhela Zone
An exciting feature of the Dhela Tourism Zone is the availability of a night stay within the forest, offering visitors a chance to experience the forest after dark. The government has constructed Forest Rest Houses (FRHs) deep within the forest.

The Dhela Zone is accessible all year round, making it a unique destination for wildlife safaris. However, the best time to visit is during the winter months, from October to March, when the weather is cool, and animals are more likely to be spotted.
